Wood Furnishings
Reclaimed Wood Variations
Variations in colour and imperfections are part of the the natural, distressed finish that ---comes from reclaimed/salvaged wood products. All dimensions are estimated due to --variations in each unique item.
Cleaning Notes
Customers are recommended to use a water-dampened cloth on all items to clean. Using cleaning chemicals or solvents on our products may cause irreversible damage to the finish, colour or texture.
During finishing, a high-quality clear furniture wax has been applied to protect from minor spills.Solid Wood/Claim Period Limitations
Most of our reclaimed wooden products are crafted with kiln dried lumber. In some cases, environmental cracks and changes may occur upon 1-6 months upon arrival. These cracks & variances often appear due to environmental changes such as humidity levels and temperature changes. Our solid wooden furniture should be kept in a climate-controlled environment to decrease the chance of possible cracking and variances in the wood. Sold as-is.
Natural Materials
As the wood itself is vintage, variances in texture, colour & size can occur. These variances are natural and may change over time due to environmental conditions, temperature changes, humidity levels, and/or exposure to sunlight.
Small separations and slight shrinking due to the environmental conditions may also occur, as most of our products are crafted from solid wood. As these are natural changes and relate to the nature of the wood, Hauer Market is not responsible for any changes that may occur.
During finishing, a high-quality clear furniture wax has been applied to protect from minor spills.
Coasters should always be used to prevent marks & stains. Never place hot items directly on the surface.
Fabric/Leather Upholstered Furnishings
Flip and re-arrange cushions regularly for even wear.
Keep out of direct sunlight, prolonged exposure may cause fabric to fade.
See selected fabric for cleaning instructions.
Be careful to clean with caution and always test a small area of the piece that is not visible before applying to a larger area (i.e. the back or under the cushion on the seat deck).
If you are not confident that you are capable of cleaning your piece we recommend you leave it to the professionals. Research and hire a reputable company that specializes in upholstery cleaning and can take the pressure off you.

Feather wrapped furniture cushions require regular maintenance to keep up with their
comfort and beauty. Cushions will be more fluffy and full when you first receive them.
Overtime, feather cushions will start to flatten, loosen and wrinkle. These are common and
standard characteristics of feather styles. Cushions hold air which makes them soft and
gives them their fullness. Overtime, sitting or leaning on feather wrapped cushions causes
the feathers to clump together and flatten.
Textiles (Toss Cushions, Throws, Area Rugs)
Caring for Decorative Toss Cushions & Throws
To keep your decorative cushions and throws looking beautiful and feeling fresh, always follow the care instructions provided for each item based on its specific fabric content. If care instructions are not included, please refer to the care symbol attached to the item. If no symbol is present, feel free to reach out to us or search online for the appropriate care methods for the specific fabric type.
Regular maintenance—such as gentle cleaning, plumping pillows to maintain their shape, shaking out throws, and de-pilling fabrics—helps extend the life and comfort of your pieces. The better you care for your items, the longer they’ll last. Please note that neglecting proper care or cleaning can shorten the lifespan of your products and will void any applicable warranties.
GENERAL CARE- Area Rugs
We recommend a suction vacuum for routine cleaning.
Rotating brush cleaners may damage the pile surface.
For shag rugs, shaking the rug or using a vacuum with a nozzle attachment is best.
Light marks or dirt can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Please follow all care instructions on your rug for best results.
STAINS
Blot any liquid or spills immediately with a dry absorbent cloth or white paper towel. Some stains may be cleaned with a mixture of mild clear detergent and lukewarm water, or by using carpet shampoo.
Spills should never be scrubbed.
Avoid excess water during cleaning, and dry the rug on a flat surface.
Using harsh chemicals may damage your rug.
Seek professional cleaning advice for severe stains.
PILE SHEDDING/FLUFF
Wool rugs normally have mild shedding.
Fluff/shedding is also common in some man-made rugs (acrylic, viscose, polyester). Shedding is normally most noticeable in the first several months of use and will reduce over time.
We recommend regular vacuuming to remove excess fluff or fibres.
SPROUTING/LONG THREADS
Some strands of the rug pile may appear longer than the rest of the pile.
Do not try to pull these strands from the rug.
Simply trim the longer strands with sharp scissors.
MARKS/CREASES
Minor creases may occur during the packaging process.
Any marks or creases that appear upon delivery are normal, these will reduce with regular vacuuming.
